3pi is our entry-level robotics team, and it focuses mostly on programming. Members form teams of two and then are leased a Pololu 3pi robot (https://www.pololu.com/product/975). These robots are small, and can be worked on pretty much anywhere; all you need is a laptop!

The 3pi robot has several integrated features, like line-following sensors, and can be expanded to use additional sensors. The program used to code this robot is Atmel Studio (http://www.atmel.com/tools/atmelstudio.aspx), which is similar to C/C++. If you are interested don’t hesitate to check out our quick start guide.

The purpose for this Fall is to have teams code their 3pis to solve a wall maze. Time and place details for this competition will be disclosed later. If you are relatively new to programming, we recommend going over our 3pi checklist and trying to complete all tasks first. If you are interested in joining, or have any technical questions, contact Adi Pasic at apasic@uh.edu.
