Welcome to IEEE Makerspace!
IEEE Makerspace at the University of Houston was created to give students an opportunity to gain more hands-on experience and showcase their skills for the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. This is done through our projects and workshops. During 2018-2019 IEEE Makers hosted three different events and presented over five projects at the ECEDHA conference.
In addition to projects and workshops, our Makerspace Showcase, Makers Arcade, and Build-a-Bot competition allow anyone to gain experience with coding and circuitry. We plan on continuing to reach out to the wider community with these events and inspiring younger generations to pursue a rewarding career in STEM.
We are also hosting a machine learning workshop, which provides you with foundations for high level machine learning program scripting and artificial intelligence, which is the need of hour. There are currently two tutorials out of six planned. The first two tutorials will cover the outline and basic requirements. The rest of the workshop will cover use cases with ML scripts which will contain major ML algorithms. The link to the self learning workshop tutorial can be found here.
