IEEE-UH Branch strives to promote STEM education to K-12 students throughout the Houston community. Through our outreach program we facilitate interactive learning activities both in the classroom and at events.
This year, we hope to spark curiosity in a virtual format to promote safety of students and teachers during these turbulent times.
These events, even if virtual, give us a chance to inspire the next generation of engineers! If you are interested in our outreach activities, please contact the IEEE-UH Educational Outreach Chair, Dana Daileyat firstname.lastname@example.org
The Electrical Engineering coloring book features fun STEM themed workbook activities for elementary to middle school students. The book contains cut and paste circuit diagrams, colorable pictures of famous scientists, and more. You can download the coloring book at the link here or click the download button below.
We have a number of educational videos on our YouTube channel that walk through demonstrations of how to build cool electrical engineering projects. The videos also feature a theory discussion to explain the science behind the projects. The video to the right is about the homopolar motor, which is a very easy to build and fundamental electric motor.
All Major Engineering Panel
COMING SOON SPRING 2021
The All major engineering panel is a Q&A video made to help answer common questions high school students may have about the different engineering majors. This event will help these students make an informed decision about what engineering major they want to pursue in college.
