Student Advisory Committee
SAC is the Student Advisory Committee of IEEE responsible for helping students with professional development, receiving academic advising, and being involved in student programs and benefits throughout each semester.
Every semester, SAC offers four main events including: The Advisory Week, Career Fair Boot Camp, and Networking Events, Workshops and Company Tours. SAC’s volunteer members provide important viewpoints and represent the voice of the over 100,000 IEEE Student and Graduate Student members worldwide. The mission of IEEE SAC is “To deliver professional success through IEEE membership worldwide for a lifetime.”
This year, the SAC will be adding a few additional leadership workshops and company tours such as Alumni Stories and Keysight Workshops to help students meet company expectations in a more creative way. All of these events are opportunities for networking, building a professional profile and learn new skills. Stay inspired with SAC and always express you
SAC MAIN EVENTS:
The Advisory Week:
This three day event introduces students to the six concentrations offered by the Electrical Department through company representatives, faculty and Senior students presentations. Students get to be inspired by great stories and are also exposed to diverse experiences to make a better choice of concentration.
Career Fair Boot Camp:
This event is specifically designed to prepare students each semester’s Career Fair with resume critiques, mock interviews, elevator speech practice and Linkedin Workshops. Company representatives and SAC members volunteer to offer their best advice for each student to shine during the Career Fair and improve their professional development skills.
Company Tours are organized to introduce students to different industries. We will organize two per semesters so keep posted!
Networking Events and Workshops:
Alumni Stories is a great opportunity to get advice and learn on Career and College paths and experiences. Stay tuned for the newest SAC event: Keysight Workshop. We will be organizing an oscilloscope training session with a Keysight engineer.
You can always be a part of SAC just by sharing your opinions, concerns and suggestions about our events and the Electrical engineering curriculum. Do not hesitate to contact us on email@example.com.
The SAC Team wishes the best of luck for this school year. We will hopefully see you soon!
